This page explains what this website collects when you visit it, why, and what you can do about it. It covers lightgearlab.com only, not the products we build for clients.

Who we are

Analytics

We use two analytics tools to understand how people find and use the site, so we can improve it. Neither is used for advertising.

• Google Analytics records the pages you view, roughly where you are (country and city), your device and browser, how you arrived (for example a search or a link), and actions such as opening the contact form. Google Analytics does not store your IP address.
• Microsoft Clarity records how pages are used: clicks, scrolling and mouse movement, which it can replay as an anonymised session recording and heatmaps. Text you type into forms is masked and not recorded.

Google and Microsoft process this data for us under their own terms. They may process it outside Malaysia.

Cookies

The analytics tools set cookies to tell one visit from the next: Google Analytics uses _ga and _ga_*, and Clarity uses _clck and _clsk (Microsoft may also set MUID). The site itself sets no other cookies. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and opt out of Google Analytics with Google's opt-out add-on. The site works the same without them.

When you contact us

The contact form does not send anything to our servers. It opens your own email app with a message ready for you to send. If you send it, we receive the details you included (such as your name, email and company) and use them only to reply and discuss your project. We don't sell or share them.

Server logs

Like most websites, our hosting and our network provider (Cloudflare) keep technical logs, such as IP address, browser and the pages requested, to keep the site secure and running. These are kept for a limited time and not used to identify you.

Your rights

Under Malaysia's Personal Data Protection Act 2010 you can ask what personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or withdraw your consent. Email [email protected] and we'll respond within 21 days.

Changes

If we change how the site handles data, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
